Earthzine extends essay, blog competition

Earthzine’s second global essay and blogging competition for college and university students worldwide has extended its deadline for submissions to 22 October 2010. “Making Citizen Observations a Global Vision ”, co-sponsored by NASA’s Applied Sciences Program, will award $1200 in prizes with $500 for first place. The 2010 essay theme seeks to explore the benefits and challenges of the collaborative role citizen observers play in the collection and validation of Earth observations. The contest is open to undergraduate and graduate college and university students who are currently enrolled in any program of study at least half-time at an accredited institution worldwide.
